Recipe by Raw Skinny
- 1 pomegranate (seeds and flesh only)
- 1 banana
- 1 cup frozen pineapple, no core
- 1 orange, peeled and deseeded
- 1 large leaf spinach/chard/silverbeet * optional
- 1 cup ice
- 1/2 – 1 cup filtered water, depending on desired consistency
Place pom seeds with all other ingredients into a processor or VITAMIX (yes, my all time favourite kitchen appliance) and wizzz into a beautiful concoction! This is jam packed with anti-oxidants and guarantees a gorgeous glow to any Raw Skinny enthusiast!
How to ‘wrangle’ a pomegranate……?? huh??
To remove the seeds from the pom, simply cut it in half and put it into a big bowl of water. Then scoop out the inside of the fruit and discard the skin. Break the inside cream coloured matter away from the seeds. The seeds drop to the bottom of the bowl, whereas everything else floats. Simply remove the matter on top of the water and strain the seeds from the water! VOILA!!! Now you are an expert in ‘wrangling pomegranates’.. hee hee.

Simply cut pomegranate in half and then hold one half in your palm, face down (loose, open fingers) over the top of a bowl, while hitting it on the backside with a wooden spoon. All of the seeds fall out through your fingers into the bowl and the white fleshy bits are all left inside the shell.. AMAZING, and quick!! Note – might pay not to wear a white shirt whilst tapping these! Pomegranate is so yummy and you will find it in various Raw Skinny Recipes.
